These are the current BI related initiatives:
Benchmarking statistics:
The Benchmarking Statistics group established in early 2026 has specific responsibility for overseeing the strategic planning set and annual benchmarking data. During the first half of 2026 the group will review and revise the question set in response to the 2025 David Baker report to ensure alignment with institutional needs. Subsequently, they will determine business requirements for a data platform for the benchmarking statistics. This will inform a technical options appraisal.
Technology survey:
A working group established in 2026 will focus on the latest technology survey, supporting iterations to the question set to ensure the survey reflects changes in technology use and institutional requirements. The group will consider the impact of vendor consolidation in the market place and development of AI tools, ensuring that data collected meets user needs.
