Engagement with university leaders in AI conversations webinar
SCONUL is holding a webinar around engaging senior leaders with conversations around AI on 16 July 2025 from 1.30pm - 3pm.
We will hear from Gavin Boyce, Head of Faculty and Partnerships and Graham McElearney, Digital Commons Digital Makerspace Manager, at the University of Sheffield, around the creation of a Library GenAI statement and the work undertaken to engage with stakeholders and ensure alignment with key University strategies, as well as engagement with their White Rose partners to support staff development.
We also have Robert Curry, from Oxford Brookes University, who chairs their institutional AI working group, and the work he has done with his Vice Chancellor and other senior leaders. He will also outline collaborative projects that touch on AI, such as an AI awareness programme for staff and students.
Our final speaker is Mark Hughes, Head of Library Services at Cardiff Metropolitan University, who will talk about his experience of chairing the University AI group and the conversations that have come off the back of this.
This webinar will be useful for library staff who are looking to gain a greater understanding of how they can use AI in their own institutions and engage senior leaders in this work.
