SCONUL Technology-enhanced library spaces webinar
We are pleased to announce the next webinar exploring technology-enhanced library spaces on 11 December 2024 from 10am – 11.30am. We will hear from three case studies exploring different stages in the development and delivery of such spaces:
- University College Cork’s Library Digital Scholarship Studio is an established, well-used, technology-rich space providing access to creative media and other specialised software to support digitally-enabled projects.
- University of Exeter’s Digital MakerSpace is a purpose built digital-first teaching space, equipped for hybrid teaching. It was funded from the OfS Teaching Capital Fund and management of the space passed to the library in 2023.
- Manchester Metropolitan University has a brand-new library innovation space (from late September), with programming in development which will be co-created with students.
Our presenters will be sharing lessons learned from the development of these spaces, including insights on future-proofing services; collaborative working across the institution; ensuring visibility and accessibility of the spaces and putting in place appropriate user support.
We’ll be hearing from
- Alan Carbery, Head of Academic Services at University College Cork.
- Stewart Palmer, Information Assistant, and Sophie Wonnacott, Support Officer at University of Exeter.
- Monica Westin, Associate Director Content and Discovery, Emma Thompson, Head of Academic Engagement and Teaching Services, and Emily Shields, Library Systems and Discovery Manager at Manchester Metropolitan University.
