Academic and research libraries are operating in a period of profound change, shaped by generative AI, evolving expectations, increasing pressure to demonstrate value, and wider questions about trust, truth and the role of institutions in society. This conference brings library leaders together to explore how the sector can respond with confidence and purpose. Dr Stephen Gow will share findings from his extensive study of students’ experiences of navigating the generative AI landscape in UK higher education, alongside sessions examining how libraries can articulate their value and services in a changing environment and the role they can play in supporting truth and democracy.

The conference offers a valuable space to step back from immediate operational pressures, engage with evidence and emerging practice, learn from colleagues and consider how libraries can shape—and not simply respond to—the changes ahead.
